8 of Diamonds
September 28th, 2009
Three thieves scheme to steal a flawless 20-carat diamond worth $2 million. But as their plan unfolds, everything begins to fall apart. The rock is swallowed by a man who then dies, leading to a gruesome amateur autopsy; significant others and fellow criminals resort to blackmail to get a piece of the action; and all three men fall victim to rampant paranoia. Eric Roberts and Tim Kazurinsky star in this darkly funny caper.
Yes – this is a low budget film. So, try to relax when you see plastic guns and dead bodies breathing, and inexperienced or volunteers doing some of the acting. Try to have fun and pay attention to the story – not the super imposed cityscapes – bid deal. It’s actually kind of a throw back to the old timey detective movies. And some actors, like Eric Roberts, might like doing low budget films – it might be more fun and more challenging. Oh…and try not to think you’re siskel and eibert – and the movie won’t be that bad. Life won’t be that bad.
